The Department’s staff currently consists of four full-time officers plus the Chief of Police. Shepherdstown has a population of 1,700, a University with its own police force, and a vibrant economic base with a substantial visitor component. The starting salary is approximately $37000. Benefits include 100% paid health insurance (including family), retirement, take home cruiser, and a fourteen day work period consisting of 12 hour work day schedule. Uniforms and equipment are paid for by the Town.
