NOTICE OF CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD FOR THE
CORPORATION OF SHEPHERDSTOWN MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION
The Corporation of Shepherdstown will hold a General Election on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 to fill two year terms of Mayor, Recorder and five Council Members. All candidates must file a notarized certificate of announcement. Filing will begin on Monday, March 7, 2016 and ends close of business on Friday, March 18, 2016. The certificate of announcement can be picked up at the Shepherdstown Town Hall, 104 North King Street or printed from the Town’s website www.shepherdstown.us and must be returned to Town Hall by hand delivery or U. S. Postal Service, but must be postmarked by the U. S. Postal Service no later than midnight of the last day of filing. Candidates are subject to the eligibility requirements of a registered voter which are as follows: must be a U.S. citizen, be a minimum of 18 years of age, be a resident of the municipality, and not be under conviction of a felony or other disqualification.
