The Shepherdstown Water Department has scheduled its annual fire hydrant flushing program to begin  April 11 - 30, 2022. During this time, customers may experience lower than normal pressures, as well as water that is cloudy in appearance. This should correct itself as we progress throughout the system. This is an important maintenance task that must be completed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Questions should be directed to Charles Coe, Chief Water Plant Operator, at 304-876-2394.  Thank you.

Think your pipes are frozen? Check all faucets or plumbing fixtures track down and isolated the problem area. If the water loss is only occurring in certain areas and not the entire structure please contact a plumber. If you experience water loss at all fixtures, please call the Shepherdstown Water Plant at 304-876-2394. We will have an operator check to insure your water meter isn't frozen. In the event a pipe has burst,  contact us and we will get the water shut off until the pipe can be repaired.
To prevent your pipes from freezing leave a very small amount of water running during the extreme cold days or nights. Insulating all plumbing will also help this issue. Be safe and stay warm.
Thank you,
Shepherdstown Water Department
