2:18 p.m. Update:  This is a public service announcement from the Shepherdstown Water Department for water customers in the following areas:    Mill Street and all areas east of Mill Street including parts of German Street, College Street, Ray Street, River Road, Ridge Valley Court and Route 230. The water leak has been repaired.  There is a boil water advisory in effect until further notice.  This advisory is in effect only for customers who lost water service.  Updates will be provided as they are received.  Please call the Shepherdstown Water Department at 304-876-2394 with any questions.  The Shepherdstown Water Department apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your patience.

 

This is a public service message from the Shepherdstown Water Department.  A water main leak has been discovered near the east end of town.  The leak is currently being repaired. Customers in the Mill Street area and eastward may lose water.  Once your water service is restored, a boil water advisory will be in effect.  Boil water for three minutes before consuming.  The advisory will be in effect until further notice.  Updates will be provided as they are received and will be posted on our website at www.shepherdstown.us and our Facebook page. Snow Removal Policy

The Corporation of Shepherdstown would like to remind property owners and renters of its policy regarding snow removal on sidewalks.

Section 11-407 Prohibited accumulation of snow, ice and debris on sidewalks and removal thereof by town at expense of property owners provides that…..

No person shall permit the accumulation of snow or ice upon the sidewalk adjacent to any property owned or occupied by him/her within the town, but shall remove the same within a reasonable time not later than 9:00 a.m.,  and 4:00 p.m.,  each day that snow or ice accumulates thereon.

Shepherdstown Path Project Public Workshop 

 

The Corporation of Shepherdstown and the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) held an informational public workshop on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, located at 233 Lowe Drive, Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, West Virginia on the Shepherdstown Path Project.  The project area along WV 480 (Kearneysville Pike) ranges from Minden Street and extends south approximately 0.5 miles to Potomac Farms Drive near Shepherdstown, Jefferson County.  The purpose of this meeting was to evaluate different conceptual alternatives to developing and constructing a path adjacent to WV 480. This meeting complied with the public involvement requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

The Corporation of Shepherdstown is accepting applications for the full-time position of Accounting Clerk.  This position requires experience with the following:  general accounting, fund accounting, GASP Accounting Principles, all aspects of payroll, Quickbooks Accounting Software, Excel spreadsheets, working with various departmental budgets as well as the Municipal Levy Budget.  Professional and courteous interaction with the public is necessary.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  For more information please call the Town Clerk, Amy Boyd, at 304-876-2398 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
